2nd Floor Imaging Centre

The 3T MRI Core facility represents a unique regional resource for state-of-the-art imaging research. Research ranges from in vitro specimen imaging, through small animal preclinical to human subject clinical trials.

Major projects include: development of contrast agents/approaches for in vivo imaging of cells and cell trafficking, metabolic imaging of liver, hyperpolarized C-13 imaging of cancer and MRI technology development.

Dr. Grace Parraga demonstrates how the facility is used specifically for hyperpolarized noble gas imaging of lungs.
