Faculty of Engineering
Western Engineering views engineering as a caring profession, bearing tremendous social responsibility. Faculty members conduct leading-edge research in topical areas that benefit society. Areas of special expertise include: alternative and renewable energy, smart machines with medical applications, natural disaster mitigation and management, nanotechnology and much more.
Biomedical Engineering is a program that promotes the cooperative involvement of clinical and basic researchers in allied disciplines such as biomaterials, biomechanics and imaging. This program encourages multidisciplinary links between the faculties of Engineering, Medicine & Dentistry, and Health Sciences, as well as Lawson Health Research Institute, Western’s teaching hospitals and Robarts Research Institute.
