Robyn Klein

Robyn KleinScientist

Professor, Department of Microbiology & Immunology, Western University

Canada Excellence Research Chair in Neurovirology and Neuroimmunology

Research Profile

Dr. Klein oversees a neuroimmunology basic and translational science research program focused on the pathogenesis of neuroinflammatory diseases in the context of infections with emerging RNA viruses. Work in the Klein laboratory has defined novel roles for cytokines and chemokines in the regulation of blood-brain barrier permeability to arboviruses, protective versus pathogenic roles for CNS leukocytes during viral recovery, and in neurologic sequelae of viral infections such as impaired learning and memory.
