Staining

The core lab provides a wide range of histology stains. Routine staining is done to give contrast to the tissue being examined, as without staining it is very difficult to see differences in cell morphology. Hematoxylin and Eosin staining (H&E Stain) is the most widely used stain for submitted samples. The core lab is equipped with an automated high through-put stainer to accommodate the high volume of samples.

Other special stains can be done upon request.

For additional staining services please see our Immunohistochemistry section.
