MSc Candidate

I am a MSc candidate in the Department of Medical Biophysics supervised by Dr. Timothy Scholl. My research focuses on the use of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to investigate the biology of brain cancers. The most common brain tumour are the gliomas. Assessing their treatment and growth is restricted by the current limits of clinical imaging and their aggressive nature. I focus on the use of molecular imaging techniques to investigate the concentration of sodium in the tissues as a potential biomarker for evaluating gliomas. Sodium is the second most available nucleus for in vivo MRI and can provide information specific to biology of the cell.
