The Stroke Prevention & Atherosclerosis Research Centre (SPARC) at Robarts Research Institute needs your help.

Heart disease and stroke account for the death of more Canadians than any other disease. Approximately 80% of all Canadians have at least one risk factor for heart disease or stroke. At SPARC we’ve found that by combining advanced imaging techniques, genetic research and individualized treatment with intensive medical therapy, we have significantly reduced the incidence of cardiac events, stroke and death in our patients.

Our latest research uses 3D ultrasound imaging to improve diagnosis, help measure the effectiveness of treatments, and most importantly, to quickly identify when a patient is at high risk for heart attack or stroke. Genetic testing will also help us find new ways to treat patients and may be the key to preventing this devastating condition.

SPARC is the only clinic of its kind and by collaborating with other world renowned researchers at Robarts, true breakthroughs are within reach.

Please help us make a difference by supporting SPARC and the groundbreaking research that’s stopping the destructive effects of stroke and heart disease. Only with your support can we continue to find new ways to help us all live longer and healthier lives.
