The London Regional Genomics Centre is a Robarts-led initiative by Dr. Robert Hegele and has been established through generous support from the Robarts Research Institute, the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at The University of Western Ontario, London Health Sciences Centre, Child Health Research Institute and The London Regional Cancer Program. The facility provides state-of-the-art services on a fee-for-service/cost recovery basis and offers both Affymetrix GeneChip technologies, spotted microarray services, and data analysis software.
Services provided by the facility include qualitative assessment of RNA via Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer and Consultation on experimental design.
Affymetrix GeneChip system:
- Expression, exon, ChIP, tiling, and cytogenetic arrays
- SNP mapping arrays (genotyping and copy number)
- GeneChip scanner 3000 for use with 11 micron feature size GeneChips
- Image and data analysis using Expression Console, dChip, Agilent GX and GT, Partek and TIGR MeV
- Pathway analysis using Ingenuity Pathway Analysis and Ariadne Pathway Studio
Spotted cDNA microarray services:
- Fluorescent labeling of total RNA or miRNA
- Hybridization of labeled probes to spotted microarray slides
- Microarray slide scanning (Cy3 and Cy5 labeled slides only)
- Image analysis of scanned tiff files with ArrayVision
