First MPI study published

Robarts scientist Paula Foster, PhD, and her team published the first paper to feature magnetic particle imaging (MPI) data acquired at a Canadian institution, using the new system at Robarts Research Institute.

This first-in-Canada study led by Foster and Olivia Sehl, PhD Candidate, combined MPI with magnetic resonance imaging to show the fate of two different cell populations in vivo. The paper, published in Tomograpy, demonstrates quantitative monitoring of mesenchymal stem cell engraftment and the resulting inflammation over time.
