Welcome to London Regional Cell and In Vitro Molecular Imaging Facility

We are the principal Confocal Imaging Facility in the City of London that was first established with MRC funding in 1999 by Dr Ferguson and built upon  with continuous rounds of CFI/ORF funding.
Our mission is to provide the best affordable, high quality, accessible, and user-friendly laser scanning confocal microscopy services for all users in Southwestern Ontario.

The two sites of our Facility are located in Rooms 3260 and 3281 at Robarts Institute, where you can find image analysis worksataions, a cell culture facility and 6 imaging systems.

neuronsWe have 3 Zeiss LSM 510 Meta microscopes, one equipped with a Confocor2 for Fluorescence Correlation Spectroscopy (FCS) and another with a femtosecond laser for multiphoton microscopy. We also have a Olympus FV1000 Confocal Microscope with enclosed chamber for live cell imaging, a Leica TCS SP5 II confocal microscope and a Leica AM TIRF MC that is specialized system for imaging cell surface events. We recentely acquired a Ground State Depletion Super resolution system from Leica Microsystems and incorporated a Zeiss Apotome microscope to our collection!
In addition, the facility offers Imaris Software and Matlab for imaging analysis and a dedicated system for ratiometric calcium imaging.

We provide researchers with diversity and flexibility with respect to experimental approaches and techniques for molecular imaging. Besides, we offer a complete training and assistance.

The facility is available to all researchers at Robarts, UWO and entire London regional research community.
