Londoners create a lasting legacyAfter conducting some research of their own, the McClatchies decided to make a difference by supporting Robarts. Their generosity will establish the Ann and Ron McClatchie Endowed Research Fund. Annual income from the fund will support Robarts’ highest priority research projects and help bring promising research from the lab to you. They shared their thoughts on why they chose to support Robarts. “We feel it is important to give back to our community and have done so for many years, working with the May Court Club of London, the Kiwanis Club of North London and through the work of our church. However, we wanted to create a lasting legacy that would benefit future generations as well. We researched the many possibilities to support a London initiative that would accomplish this goal and chose Robarts because of the ground-breaking research of its scientists and the impact their work is having and will continue to have in medical fields. We are excited and committed to continuing our support of these very important endeavours.” Both Ron and Ann are University of Western Ontario alumni and actively participate in the Senior Alumni program where lectures from Robarts Scientists are always a highlight. Ron is also a member of Kiwanis, a loyal group of Robarts supporters for more than 20 years. Through their support, the McClatchies have ensured their legacy will be felt at Robarts and in the lives saved by advancing medical research.
